Hymenaea verrucosa is a large umbrella-shaped tree native to East Africa and Madagascar. The roots, trunk and fruits produce a hard resin called Zanzibar Copal. It is used as incense, its properties include anti-inflammatory, antispasmodic, bactericidal and healing.
