Ranging from 15 to 30mm in length, this collection of black, brown, or dark bull's-eye seeds offers unique creations in natural materials.
Species include: Mucuna sloanei, Mucuna macrocarpa, Mucuna paniculata, Mucuna interrupta, Mucuna gigantea, and Macropsychanthus comosus.
Primarily found in tropical regions, there are approximately one hundred species of Mucuna, as well as Macropsychanthus, whose particularly remarkable and long-lasting seeds are known as Œil de bœuf, bull's-eye, donkey's eye, Hamburger Bean or sea purse.
Traditionally kept in homes, carried in pockets, or worn as necklaces to ward off the evil eye, it is considered a protective charm or good luck charm in the Caribbean, tropical America, and even as far north as Europe when it washes up on a beach after a long journey.
